Are you a new sewer that's raring to go but are struggling to differenciate between all the different types of fabric on the market and what garments they are best used for? Have you bought a pattern but don't know what all the little markings mean? Well then, come along to our short workshop and learn about all the different fabrics available and what to look for when you're going solo and buying fabric on your own and how to read a sewing pattern!
We will provide you with fabric samples for you to put together in a book for future reference when you're out shopping and we'll also give examples of sewing patterns that will go best with each type of fabric, as well as showing you what all the different terminology means at the back of a sewing pattern and on the pattern blocks themselves. As well as this, we will also teach you how to measure yourself properly so you can choose the right size on a sewing pattern.
Then you'll be let out into the wilderness for you to make your ideal wardrobe!
We will provide:
- Fabric samples
- Scrapbook for you to mount your samples in
- Tea, coffee & cake
PLEASE NOTE: No sewing techniques will be taught during this workshop.
Anyone attending a workshop also receives a whopping 15% discount in the shop on the days of their workshop!*
*Excludes gift vouchers and sale items. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Please refer to our Workshop T&Cs before making your booking.
If your order is placed Tuesday – Saturday, your order will be sent within 48 hours and we'll send you an email to let you know it's on its way. As we are closed Sundays and Mondays, any orders placed on these days will be despatched Tuesday at the earliest.
